A united cyprus would mean so much economically, a population of 1.0 million, no military spending the cover of Nato for protection, billions of barels of offshore petroleum, a very well educated population, no crime. A united cyprus could be the envy of the world.

And become a super power just like the USA.

A unitary state does not mean the marginalization of any minority, if the idea of an upper house/senate is acted upon. True, the lower house has to be purely democratic as per the actual population percentages, but having a senate made up of equal members of Greek Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Marionite Cypriots, and Armenian Cypriots to vet all legiation and presidential executive orders will ensure the 'equal ethnic status' that is so important to you...

It's very easy to put suggestions forward for a person who is thousands of miles away and does not know the real situation and how the people feel in the country in question.

As VP already mentioned, try selling your idea to the Greek Cypriots and see what they have to say about it.

Assuming that they do not agree, what is your next suggestion?

This TC wants to live in a Cyprus state run by Cypriots...But I might have to start my own Cypriot state on Mars to achieve my wish...Who will come with me???

We still cannot agree on a real definition of Cypriot and once we start discussing the word all hell breaks loose.

As Nikitas suggested we can simplify the definition to the bare essentials (or should I say the bear essentials in sympathy with Zan )...

Anybody who was born in Cyprus or has one parent born in Cyprus is a Cypriot...Does anyone object to that????

I have an objection to that as it leaves me out, even though it covers my sons both ways.

So we will just amend it slightly to "Anybody who was born in Cyprus or has one parent born in Cyprus, plus CBBB, is a Cypriot".

Easily fixed CBBB..."Anybody who was born in Cyprus or has one parent or child born in Cyprus is a Cypriot!!!...." Happy now???

The term Cypriot as a nationality was not defined under the Cyprus constitution. The constitution refers initially to two communities or religious groups one Greek and one Turk but not Cypriot.
