Do TCs want to live in a GC state as a minority?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

This TC wants to live in a Cyprus state run by Cypriots...But I might have to start my own Cypriot state on Mars to achieve my wish...Who will come with me??? :)

It is about the same as the definition for a Swiss. We like to complicate it with bullshit. Swiss come from three ethnic groups, French, German and Italian. They have NO DOUBT at all about being Swiss even though there is no Swiss language or ethnicity. They managed to make a country that is synonymous with progress and wealth.

You are probably right on your analysis here but the SWISS do not have much of a history and we all know what history teaches us !

They only go back to 1291.!!

Each country has ts unique history which has molded its development, the obvious lesson we need to learn is that the 2 communities may socialize and act civilized towards one another the UK being another example of this but ask them to share power and a country you have oil and water they dont mix and the last attempts at trying to negotiate a solution will end in deadlock, the important issue here is what is the UN EU USA UK Greece and Turkey going to do? will pressure be placed on all parties concerned and what will be the outcome?

We still cannot agree on a real definition of Cypriot and once we start discussing the word all hell breaks loose.

As Nikitas suggested we can simplify the definition to the bare essentials (or should I say the bear essentials in sympathy with Zan  )...

Anybody who was born in Cyprus or has one parent born in Cyprus is a Cypriot...Does anyone object to that????

Just to make it clear,we are talking about a Cypriot not a True Cypriot :!: :!: :!:  :)

I have an objection to that as it leaves me out, even though it covers my sons both ways.

So we will just amend it slightly to "Anybody who was born in Cyprus or has one parent born in Cyprus, plus CBBB, is a Cypriot".

Speelling police alert!!!!

It's not a spelling problem ... It is a homonym problem.

No It's just your problem...I don't give a monkeys arm pit because I concentrate on the content and have never picked you up on your mistakes in spelling in the past. I would rather concentrate on yours and CBBB content which doesn't seem to be much. If all you can do is pick up on my spelling then I am happy...PIck away.

And so begins a new fight for rights.

Perhaps we should start thinking in terms of inclusion rather than exclusion of people...The EOKA frame of mind has to stop.

We could have a mini EU in Cyprus where all peoples have a veto. GC, TC, Maronite, Armenian, Brits and Others. :?:

A united cyprus would mean so much economically, a population of 1.0 million, no military spending the cover of Nato for protection, billions of barels of offshore petroleum, a very well educated population, no crime. A united cyprus could be the envy of the world.
