Do TCs want to live in a GC state as a minority?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The UN came in did they not???They were supposed to restore and protect..They did neither......

The second phase of the peace process was because no agreement could be found and Turkey saw the GReeks reenforcing their positions......Rules of war took over......

If what you say is true, and TC's were forced off their lands at gunpoint into enclaves, then why has there been no major effort to redress this? I would have thought that the EU would have wanted to see resolution on such a thing.

The TMT/TCs were no pushovers, ask Zanny how they held the Nicosia-Limassol highway hostage at the Kofinou region and nearly brought the Republic to its knees by delaying and/or disallowing traffic flow, prompting Greece to send the infamous 10,000 troops to free it, which were soon after replaced by UN personnel in a new resolution. So don’t buy that shit that they were “forced out” from here or there.

I'm not "buying" anything, GR. I'm trying to make sense out of things, and trying to see past the obstensive reasons to the facts of the matter.

This is the one thing that makes me wonder about the events of 1963 happenning as stated. The EU's charter on human rights makes redress of ethnic wrongs a priority. So, if the Turkish Cypriot land owners were forced off their land and pushed into enclaves by Greek Cypriots, then the EU would rightly insist upon those land losses being redressed, right? The EU has a court whose decisions are binding on members. So, if Turkish Cypriot land was indeed taken en-masse, where is the EU ruling regarding this?

I think that I don't have all that much to complain about here, Zan. I make queries, make observations, and respond to questions the best way I can. I haven't been threatened.

Let's not forget though that the TCs were not the type (at the time) to lodge any complains to the UN and such. They were never the wimpy kind so when crossed they just came back with more volunteers to fight...
