All we need to do is to look back say 5000 years and examine the idea of GOD or a supreme being then....Today we would laugh at how stupid they all were to believe in all sorts of nonsense....I am absolutely sure thqat if we go forward 5000 years, people living then would consider our idea of a personal GOD totally bonkers...It cannnot be any other way...It is called progress...It is not stopable......

No need to wait 5000 years Bir.......You should be able to hear me laughing all the way from OZ!!!

You woke me up with that laugh this morning, you scoundrel... :)

What's so humorous about saying...

"I used to be skeptical about the existence of God but I'm now having second thoughts" ?

...unless it's Australian humor in which case >

Or did you assume that agnostic just means "skeptical" all on its own? Yeah, I'll laugh to that...

But I didn't say "I used to be skeptical ....etc"
Alexis got it the first time...
It is British humour ,if anything...
Glad to put a belated smile on your face,GR!

It's the meaning of the word "agnostic" that makes it funny. It means the same as "I used to be unsure (about the existence of God) but now I'm not so sure (about not being sure)"

And this is the "official" agnostic's prayer:
"Dear God, if you exist, please save my soul, if I have one"

I'll drink to that,alexiss... :)

Both you and Alexis need an elementary English lesson:

“I used to be an agnostic” = “I used to be skeptical about the existence of God”

“I used to be skeptical” <> “I used to be an agnostic”

Trust unkie GR.

Don't you ever sleep????Bloody hell...How many of you are there...??? :)

You chose to interpret agnostic as "skeptical about the existence of God"

But if you interpret it as "Not sure whether God exists of not"....bingo...the joke works... If you hadn't killed it that is...Bloody Pure Cypriot!!!

As an outsider, (alien I presume) I think humans are very ugly and can’t for the life of me figure out how they can copulate… :?
