piratis you need to conceede that a lot of countries during independence payback was the order of the day for the ottomans...even in greece the ottomans suffered during the early days...in bulgaria the same...actually everywhere it was the same mentality...greece was no exception...

while not denying your right the struggle should have been for liberation...but the british gave us promises...the tcs looked around and saw nothing but trouble in other countries...a catch 22

The Turks have annihilated the Greeks from Imbros, Tenedos and the coast of Asia Minor. They have also done the same in north Cyprus. The Greeks are only forced to try to stop this Turkish expansionism against Greek islands and territories, by trying to contain the Turkish nationalism. Still, no human rights of the Turks are violated.

Bless you,Piratis you make me laugh!
So we won't have our right to life respected, but we will have our minority rights! That's something I suppose!
Now what can we do with our minority rights in heaven...Hmmmmmmm

Yes, but we are not talking about the revolution of 1821 here. Our struggle in the 1950s was against the British Colonialists, not against Ottomans or Turks. It is the TCs that choose to become our enemies by collaborating with the Imperialists and attacking us.

Apparently you can't even read lately. To have Turkish schools is a minority right, and NOT a human right.

The Turks FIRST (as always) closed the Halki seminary in Constantinople and then the Greek government as a retaliation closed some Turkish schools in Rhodes.

When YOU attack we fight back. Is there something not clear about this?

Because the memory of the Greek invasion of Asia Minor and parts of Anatolia was too fresh in TC minds...They knew the GCs hated them with vengence and they would have been in grave danger if they found themselves at the mercy of the GCs and the mainland Greeks...Why,even now most of the reactionary GCs here hate Turks and TCs,just read some of their posts to realise what would have happened to the TCs had Enosis came about...

TODAY you keep 100s of thousands of people out of their homes at gun point and you illegally occupy our properties and then you wonder why you are hated?

We suffered for centuries under Ottoman rule, and still we forgave you and during most part of the British rule we lived together in peace. Where did you see the vengeance against TCs in the early 50s and earlier? The problems only started when you choose to collaborate with the Imperialists and attack us, because you were promised privileges on our expense if you helped those Imperialists to achieve their aims in Cyprus.

Unlike you, we are forgiving people. We forgave you soon after the Ottoman rule ended, and we will forgive you again soon after you end your illegal occupation of the north part of our country and stop collaborating with Imperialists trying to have gains on our expense.

While the shops and houses you burned in the 50s and the innocent unarmed people you killed in Gyonelly were a threat to you? What about the 1000s killed and the 100s of thousands of innocent people you ethnically cleansed in 1974? You had to rape under age girls, kill children and old people who didn't have the power to run to save their lives, in order to "protect the TCs"? Yes, everything is very clear.

And I do not support the crimes against innocent TCs. Unfortunately even today you are trying to find an excuse to violate the human rights of 100s of thousands of innocent people simply because they are Greek Cypriots! You are not any better than those GC thugs you are accuse. You want to harm people not because of something they personally did, but just because they belong to an ethnic group that you hate.
