Where are these TCs? work sites? there are very few TCs in important jobs, when you put forward they do not know the language it is farcical as Turksh is an official language and English is widely spoken by the majority of GCs.

What did you expect after the TCs were "locked up" in the north for 30 years by Denktash. How did you expect these TCs to get a good jobs in the RoC during those times. Only in the last few years the TCs have been able to go to the south and apply for jobs. What did you expect, that companies would kick out their employees to make room for the TCs.? I don't think so. They just need to apply for any openings like any other candidates. If Greek is required and the TC does not speak Greek, then it would not help him get that job in private businesses. In Government jobs, Turkish should be accepted if the TC does not speak Greek also, but in private businesses, it is not the same.!

In a racist vegence seeking GC society they do not stand a chance, thinking otherwise would be fatal to anyone who takes their career seriouly and wants to build a future...the south is a dead end for TCs.

i dont stand a chance in any government job either because i dont speak.. wait for it.. wait for it..

TURKISH

and in trnc would i be given a job as a doctor lawyer? or issuing id cards and passports? would they let me work at the green line seing the id cards? probably not i would be spit at

no you would be suprised how bad our english is.. you will find mostly gcs who have lived in england or people with high jobs like doctors speak well english, other then that our english is pretty poor.

tcs have more jobs then we are given and more important ones. trust me they are not being discriminated when it comes to work at all.

Rubbish, all you have do is visit the south to know you are talking rubbish and assuming they like working on building sites is not only childish but very stupid, these people are university graduates.

i live in the south i was born and raised here i know it better then you..

i know you want to hate us and say how much of barbarians we are and try put us down every chance you get but come with a degree go to the government or a high job with the RIGHT qualifications and i bet you any money you will get the job, lots of gcs work construction do you know how much money they get? i know in the north they probably get a few cents a year but if i pay 140,000 in a village imagine what they are paying in nicosia or limassol or pafos down town?. some university graduates you think they leave uni and suddenly have a 1 million pound a year job? most of them finish and take any small job to get the money to pay off loans!
and sometimes all the qualification in the world means NOTHING without experience. its very hard to get a job and im sorry you feel that way but your wrong.

and on a seperate note if i came into he north and asked for a well paid job will the turks even consider me or will they laugh and not even talk to me?

you cant expect gcs to keep giving you people everything and then spit in our face and demand everything. we want your jobs we want your money your island your everything. it does not work that way. only in twisted third world countries it does.

btw the house next door to me is a tiny crap hole and they are asking 600,000 for it

How old are you? 12? its the "RoC" that claims to represent all Cypriots including TCs, they are forced to supply ids health care jobs etc, one of your offical languages is Turkish for gods sake, and you cliam to be Europeans. We claim no such things nor do we want to represent you GCs, nor do we have to adhere to EU laws we are not offically in the EU, theres a big difference you are just to naive it to realize these facts. The price of a house only makes the property developer rich whoo uses the TC as cheap labour, now do you get the drift?

Unfortunately Karma, even though the letter of Jonson to Inonu in 1964, is a well known fact, the letter you refer to in 1974 is not known at all, simply because it never existed. The US at the time was going through the Watergate scandal, Nixon was essentially neutralized, and FM Kissinger was manipulating international relations through a fraction of CIA agents. What is well known though, is the vain efforts of UK PM Wilson and FM Callahan to convince Ecevit, when he was visting London between 17-18 July 1974, not to take the action Turkey eventually took, terming it as premature and unjustified, and that Turkey should allow time to international diplomacy to act and force the coupists to resign power back to Makarios. If you read Mehmet Ali Birand's "30 hot days" book, you will get the proper picture of how it occurred. What is also well know, is Callahan's warning on the eve of 14th August 1974 -the eve before the 2nd Attila operation, in Vienna, when it became apparent that Turkey was dragging its feet during the negotiations between the two sides, while at the same time back in Cyprus it was preparing the launching of the 2nd phase of its military assault. Callahan more or less told Turkish FM Gunes, in an angry tone, that now his government and its military feel Cyprus is a hostage to Turkey, and you try to exploit the opportunity to its fullest, but a time will come in the future that Turkey and its army will become hostages of Cyprus. Prophetic words, one may think.

hi Kifea,
I wish you were right ; yes there may not be any offcial letter around but a few high ranking army officers in Turkey have already confessed tht they kept waiting for the OK they needed in 74..and they finally got it ...do u think Turkey would have ever dared it otherwise ?? Unfortunately nothing has changed today either..Dont you see wht is happening with Fetullah case and his very possible future Islamic Rep. of Turkey, why do you think he lives in USA instead of Mekka ??
if Turkey was a really free country, Im sure things could have been much better in the region 8)

so what if its an official language you cant claim we represent you then demand your trnc is recognised and that gives you the right to demand everything from us and spit in our faces and give nothing..

a typical turk response whats your is ours and whats ours is ours and ..

so the partition line is there when it suits you right?;) its give and take not take take

If that's the way you really feel, then tell the rest of the story and admit that the north is also dead end for the TCs.!

Hey Palio do you realize that its you GCs that claim to represent us TCs without our say so?

With this claim comes responsiblity, you cannot take the glory without the responsiblity it involves, is that what you are trying to do?

You have to have the balls to say we do not represent you TCs and stop id cards health care and jobs, this you will never do because then the world just might recognize the TRNC. Now do you understand why you GCs are forced to take responsiblity?

We demand the TRNC is recognized because we do not want you to represent us as we did not give you that right you took it away and use it all the time in the shape of sole recognition.

You complain-rather accuse- the GCs that they only offer those TCs who come looking for a job in the RoC controlled areas, the worst of jobs like construction workers etc. That we don't offer them jobs like lawyers, Engineers, Teachers,Bank employees,Commercial Managers etc. The common denominator for all these people is they don't know the language. And the common denominator of good jobs is.. they are hard to get even for GCs.

So suppose all those TC people who now come to the RoC controlled areas looking for a job (who btw are all unemployed) were going to Italy instead, what jobs do you think they would get?

Isnt Turkish an official language of your country?

Yes in MY COUNTRY Turkish is an official language OF THE GOVERNMENT so that 180,000 TCs can serve each other REGARDING GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS. Those 180,000 TCs should also pay the SALARIES of those TCS GOVERNMENT employees through taxation.

Do you mind telling me where those 180,000 TCS are and to whom they pay taxes right now to have their "government" employees serving them?

Have your TrashNcan recognised on some southern coast of Turkey, not on our stolen lands houses and properties.

And btw we represent you nowhere. :P
