Sorry don't understand

Sorry it was far GR and he understands it perfectly.

He is like a pussycat upsetting all the TCs. I simply asked him in Lurucina language to stop it.

Nobody understands your gypsy talk and nobody wants to read your 2-cent junk posts.

YFred makes perfect sense to me...It is you ,GR,who is shamelessly trying to intimidate people to not post anything unless it contains a link that you approve...When they do quote links you simply rubbish it and refer people to your own site...

You might be simple minded enough to believe that unless something can be located on the internet it is not valid or real...
The TCs as individuals and as a community have their own individual and collective wisdom, truths and consiousness...And we will only laugh at your "credible link" antics...

Today I visited an old cousin who immigrated to Australia in 1951...I discovered something I didnt know about him...He was sponsored to come to Australia by 2 brothers who were his best mates when he worked at the Agricultural department offices in Morphou between 1943 and 49...
They shared their house with him in Sydney and helped him find work with
their own employer,a cafe/milkbar owner...Guess what? My cousin's mates and their employers were all Greek Cypriots...I asked my cousin who had the better jobs at his workplaces in Cyprus...He said it was the GCs...They were better educated and more in numbers...I asked did the British favour one side over the other? He said definitely not...I said was there animosity between the GCs and TCs when you were in Cyprus,he said non what so ever...I asked why did we then have all those troubles afterwards...He said 3 words : EOKA and ENOSIS...

I know elsewhere I said you are not worth replying to,but I thought I would share this with you...From the mind and the heart of an old TC who left Cyprus in 1951 and only returned twice for a holiday...Someone who has nothing to do with "exchange land " in the trnc...Make of it what you will...

But, he had left before EOKA was formed ...

That is the whole point,Oracle...You missed it completely...This 90 year old man who only knows of the good times with his GC mates, who had left Cyprus in 1951 believes the "troubles" were brought about by the EOKA and the demand for Enosis...That is his belief, his truth, his explanation...Go figure...

He can blame all he wants. He wasn't even in Cyprus at the time of EOKA. He obviously left Cyprus for other reasons. ... So, why don't you "Go figure" why your third hand "news" is irrelevant to the integrity and workings of EOKA.

Oh, and stop flattering yourself that we hang onto your every reply. Your righteous indignation at our questioning your "word" is tiresome.

Oracle I don't know what planet you live on, but, I have to say it again, the TC's left in the 50's because they were treated like second class citizens, they were bullied and intimidated to leave their lands and villages, they had no jobs and weren't being educated and they feared for their lives - all true. They had no future, so they left. People emigrating, don't make a decision like that lightly, or just for the fun of it. They had had enough. There was mass migration in the 50's and the 60's. Why do you think there are so many TC's and their descendants living in London, Melbourne and Sydney. Whether it was the official EOKA or the unofficial one that was going on prior to the formation, who knows. But we can tell you from stories from our relatives who left their beloved country.

Stop this bullshit non believer stuff and maybe we can have a decent conversation.

Merhaba AussieTurk,

When one mentions dates of 'emigration' one must be careful. There is no doubt that many Cypriots did in fact begin a mass emigration before the EOKA problems took hold.

From our villages' four large well off (landed) families almost all their young left Cyprus to live in the UK for economic reasons. These were between the years 1936 -1960. Amongst them my father , uncle and aunt. Even though the land and plantations were plentiful, there was not much 'money' circulating. Bartering of farm produce was rife. The most valuable produce was almonds and olive oil.
These people were hardly touched by the 'troubles' (kargaşalık) as my father would put it. They were 'economic' migrants and intended to move back to Cyprus once their fortunes were made. Later on, with the advent of EOKA/mostly they(the TCs) blamed the EOKA for their non-return to the island. Ofcourse after the 1963 events this emigration increased drastically.

I appreciate that there may have been different circumstances in the areas where your people/acquaintances lived.

Regards

Who are you blaming for this?

I hope it's not those impoverished GCs, enslaved by Turks for centuries, and then, in turn, by Brits ....
