Halil,i do not approve what they did but we are talking about something different here..
As you know the boys have been detained for seven days until police completes the investigation..
Do you believe that this was necessary?do you think they would have interfered with the investigation in any way had they not been jailed for seven days?

Iceman, do you know what exactly they said against Talat?

No i dont, but i will try to find out and post here..

Have they said he is a cold blood murderer, like Loukoudin Charalambous of Cyprus Mail and Bananiot have been saying during the last 5 years about Papadopoulos?

Calling someone cold blooded murderer is one thing (because it's no more than an accusation)
using dirty language to swear at his person/family/mother etc is another...

None of the snippets I've read said anything of what you suggest iceman. Only Talat was "insulted".

Well...they say it was more than insult...The boys were drunk,so i i wouldn't be surprised if they did use dirty language..

will try to get details..

and even if they did swear,i still don't approve the boys being arrested & detained for seven days till investigation is completed..

Miltiades (being such a lover of the Turks) was going to join a forum over on the 'Occupied Territory' but was warned of the possibility of him being 'Clapped in Irons' as soon as he began posting.

Last I heard, he was growing a beard and emulating the mannerisms of a local 'Mullah' in order that he might sneak in through Ercan and save himself a few bob on the cheap flights being offered.

All in all, at least WE on this forum are a little more at ease, now that we no longer have to suffer the prospect of falling victim to his scathing verbal insults.

Miss the old boy nonetheless.

It’s not too long ago when another group of youths were arrested for spray painting “insulting” slogans on a wall, or TC journalists being harassed in various ways for criticizing the TC leadership and/or Turkey, so this recent case is nothing new.

TC citizens should take note of these incidents and be more inconspicuous in their actions.

Kifeas

Have they said he is a cold blood murderer, like Loukoudin Charalambous of Cyprus Mail and Bananiot have been saying during the last 5 years about Papadopoulos?

Kifeas could not be more double face than this. On numerous occasions this great democrat tried to exert psychological presure on me during Papadopoulos term by insinuating and saying that as a government employee I could not criticise the President and I had to point out the obvious to him that I was not appointed by Papadopoulos and I did not swear allegiance to him and I was free man to criticise anyone I wanted to. If it was up to him I would be further than Siberia now. Not on one instance did Kifeas ever say that I had the democratic right to criticise the President. Another great democrat of the forum, Piratis, explicitly explained to me that I could not critice the democratially elected President of Cyprus.

You see, when the Turks intoduce cencorship, they are bloody Turks, what can one expect from them. When we do the same or worse, the great democrats close their eyes. I have no sympathy for them. Having said this, I also stand up for the people arrested and condemn all acts that tend to silence people, even if I disagree with what they say.

DId you get arrested when you criticised Papadopoulos? Cause thats what we're discussing here. Not the personal feelings of people but an administratio that feels the need to hold people under custody if they insult the leader.

No I did not get arrested but do you think psychological pressure is easier to stomach? I am glad you did not dispute the fact that this kind of pressure was exerted on people that had a different outlook of things.
