The main opposition National Unity Party has held its 17th General Congress today.

And Congress lasted with new elected leader of dr Dervish Eroğlu .

Former UBP leader Dervis Eroglu and current leader Tahsin Ertugruloglu were contesting for the party’s leadership.

In the political arena new gossips is , it is going to be early election in May 2009 .

The unknown problems of Cyprus helps the UBP to comeback to power.

not like Talat or CTP , UBP wants to sit on the negotiation table as the TRNC . Otherwise they will pull out from the talks .....that's what they are saying ............. we will see ...... in coming days what will be the new policies of UBP.

If some one asks me which one i will choose ...... I say Eroğlu ....

Tahsin is too extremist compare to Eroğlu

And of course you the fools will elect them to power, for you think this might ever be possible!

And since when any TC leadership does anything different than what Turkey tells them?

Anyway, Turkey allowing those extremists to be elected, will land all the international blame fair and square on themselves for the inevitable collapse of the talks, and will put Turkey in an even more difficult situation in its endeavors and relations with the EU. Perhaps this is good sign for the GC side, since anyway with Talat we are not heading anywhere, as far as a solution is concerned.

If you think the negotiating team right now is a dead end you do not want to see this party elected in they wont even come to the table, just like the crying Papastropolous.

I have no problem calling them that from now as they have been given orders by Turkey to make 50% of the candidates in the next election Turks that settled in the TRNC after 1974, do you now get my drift? Can you not see the tide turning against you with regards to whom you will have to negotiate with? they wont give a shit about GCs not unlike TCs who never want any harm to come to GCs and would genuine like a solution that would resolve everything.
