Just one last comment and we'll done with this topic here. Demetriou, Turkish Cypriots saw it on their own interest to ally with British against the EOKAn struggle for ENOSIS. You wouldn't expect Turkish Cypriots to be on the side of EOKA for the unification of the island with Greece, would you?

The main problem is when the Republic of Cyprus was founded, the ruling elite was casted by the politicians who were once supporting Enosis and Taksim. This was the main reason, why this young republic couldn't survive ... The biggest mistakes were Makarios being President, and Kucuk being VP. Also we all know who were Kleridis and Denktash...
