Brothers in Arms .....

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Oracle » Tue Dec 02, 2008 12:08 pm

I believe that Cyprus and Greece are truly Brothers in Arms.

Greece having (mostly) liberated herself from the Turkish yoke is now continuing a fuller "fight" for freedom which will only end when Turkey has been removed from Cyprus. Even when it looks like Greece is increasing diplomatic exchanges with Turkey, I have no doubt it is its modern peaceful means to end the occupation.

Christofias despite initial worries, clearly is continuing this brotherhood between Greece and Cyprus (hence the exchange of medals and honours) and expanding our old ties with other like-minded nations so that together we can make a concerted effort to pressure Turkey out with the least likelihood of further bloodshed.

So let's not have any more one-sided play for either Greece or Cyprus; they are in this together!

Russia is a nation that is on the brink of Collapse, starving and can not believe its previous strong hold on nations like Poland and the ex-Soviet block are all but a few slipping, or entirely slipped away from its iron fist!

It also can not take countries like China now being regarded as the next superpower, obviously replacing the former US-Soviet power stage - bye, bye Russia....

...Therefore, President Christofias' move to "Sideline" (as said by one prominent MEP), is in my view, a very dumb move.

Why is Christofias making SO many mistakes? It almost appears that he's under a lot of pressure?

He's not only putting on a huge amount of weight - developed an even Fatter face recently, but also can not keep his trap shut. He's becoming a little bit of an embarrassment, isn't he?

Russia is only a nation that has plenty of Gas and etc, nothing more! If it didn't have those natural resources, its COMMUNIST Regime and BACKWARD Society wouldn't even be worth view via a website left alone visiting the country. Russia is going down, and countries like China, U.S and the European Union will make sure it happens. I would be embarrassed to associate my HIGHEST OFFICE with Russia as my TOP ALLY - Try selecting the EU!

Russia?

Postby coremax » Tue Dec 02, 2008 2:13 pm

Hold your horses there MrH, keep in mind that the latest events in the Russian borders (here, there and everywhere) are the primitive conclusions of Russians being underestimated. And your remark considering Russia's natural resources as a mere advantage, is simply rubbish. Wake up, everything that's been going on around the mid-east is all about natural resources, under the anti-terrorism umbrella.

EU has been trying to squeeze Russia, by acquiring some of the ex-soviet land via Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine and even provoking Georgia against them, and obviously Russia has shown that she isn't just going to take it, simple...

A mono-polar world didn't prove any good to anyone but to the single eskimo that lives in his warm igloo, and now it's melting.

Russia's next step after Cyprus was Venezuella, and now they have Bolivia in mind...

My two cents, each nation should be very careful about getting new allies, simply put, there're clash of interests, and believe me, you want no part of it considering the size of the island ;)

A simple clarification, I'm not pro-russia, or pro-EU or pro-US, it's just that I find it unbelievably dumb for a nation to try to get on well with everyone, signing agreements and alike. The only place on earth which this had worked in the past is Switzerland during WWI. They had the capital, and they simply stayed out of it.

Strategy demands consistency (that is, if you have one)

Russia has not had a COMMUNIST regime for the past eighteen years or so! I think I have got it. You are a kind of Rip Van Winkle who fell asleep in Finsbury Park twenty years ago and has just woken up, spouting the accepted truths of decades ago and unaware that the world has changed.

Yep, that's it, Finsbury Park between the bowling green and the pond, in the shade of the pavillion there.

Why doesn't the "TRNC" start a save-a-Russian campaign to show the world how to manage one's finances? 8)

What Finance - Hehehehehe - Sorry, I just had to say it!!!!!!

Russia is old News All, it will soon, ultimately, break up into little mini-states.

Tim,

Your comments about Russia not having a Communist regime is like saying that Chrisrofias is not a Communist - There is something in this world known as "Stealth Policies". Believe what you will my friend, Russia is a bad investment for Cyprus. Use its Resources and then Bin the country, it's not worth the space on an ATLAS map. I stayed there for 3 years when I was a student once upon a time! It's the people, they are so backward that their idea of a democracy is having a McDonalds on its main street. I almost feel sorry for them! NOT!

They should keep off Georgian land! Try Negotiating for a change! Smash and Grab in 2008 just doesn't quite work in today's diplomatic world.
