How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Oracle,

Tell us something new!!!

Remember, the EU can turn its back on the GCs, similarly to how it did with Kosovo.

Murat, they did recognize Kosovo, because it was possible to do so! In your case, it is legally impossible, even if all 26 do want so! And it is legally impossible, not just for the EU or any of its member states, but it is also impossible for the UN! Get it Murat, before it will be too late for your community!

Interesting comments from Oracle. Taking the discussion further would anti Greece Greek Cypriots please explain why Christofias needs to keep briefing Greece on his negotitations with Turkey. If as you say Greece has nothing to do with Cyprus why the briefing or medal exchanges.

Most of u missed what ROTH was pointing out .
here it is her words from Soyer and her meeting.

solution to the Cyprus Problem must be found by Cypriots themselves, Roth said that Athens and Ankara should distance themselves a little bid away from the issue.

Polititions in the world does not sleep . They are observing everything very clearly .......

Ankara can take itself to the Moon for all I care, the further the better ... but not before they remove their alien Turkish troops off Cyprus.

Until then Ankara is going to have to face the music, from Greece, Russia EU and whomsoever we deem necessary to redress the balance of having such an over-sized country as Turkey invading us, occupying us and continuing to threaten us with warships!

Its a pity the President declared that Cyprus would not join NATO as long as HE was in power. that would have been another string to your bow - it is better to be on the inside looking out than on the outside looking in.
There is of course another scenario far fetched as it may seem.
That Turkey gets fed up with all the antagonism and lack of EU membership and decides to take Cyprus...it has nothing to lose as its the TRNC thats the illegal state not Turkey. Remember from Peyia they can see the sea - a sharp thrust there and Cyprus is split and they can then roll up either side. And then to their mind the Cyprus problem is solved. ridiculous i know but think of Big Russia and little Georgia....
Tell me what stopped the Turks in the positions they are now occupying??
was it intervention from outsiders or a security council resolution. i dont know the history of their halting.

BOF, do not worry and rest sure! Now that you "woke” us “up" to the possibility that "big" Turkey may become fed up and take over the whole of "little" Cyprus, we will become "good boys," "behave" ourselves and “seat quiet!"

Which antagonism you asshole are you talking about? Is it antagonism to demand the end of your country's illegal occupation, and the restitution of its people's human rights?

PS: By the way, has anyone ever told you that the avatar you have chosen makes you look like a gay? You know, in Cyprus we have a saying, that “the moustache is the veil of a gay man!”

Nope .... it is better to stick with principles. Why should we join a military organisation that was basically set up as a missile shield against Russia ..... and when Russia called its bluff, asking to become a member of this "peace" organisation they turned it down.

So much for NATO and world peace

The TRNC is not an illegal "state", it is not worthy of any recognition as any type of entity. What is illegal is the Turkish occupation so I do not see how you think Turkey is not accountable or responsible for this act of war.

If it decides to "take" Cyprus, be sure it is part of the Union you belong to as well!

Will Europe want to lose its most southerly/easterly border and all the geopolitical strength (as well as future revenue) attached therein?

OK I guess the G&T is talking now ....

Others will know more, but my take on it is that Turkey has since the 50's planned to take the northern part of Cyprus, hence its second push (August 1974) even after a ceasefire was called. I guess the halt was then imposed by the higher powers that be (UK/UN/US) once the objective was met.
