“Ex-chancellor feeds Soyer a German salami” :?

That's about it. The second article says

"insignificant German politicians (the Green party!) feed Soyer more salami."

Apparently Soyer has failed to realise that as a Muslim he should not be partaking of the pork products.

So why isn’t this thread appropriately titled… “Soyer gorges himself with German salami!” ? :?

Or "Salami Soyer gorges Germans with himself?"

Yeah, you've hit the salami on the head...

The guy behind Soyer has it in his hand. It's a big red spicy one that you can only get in Germany.

Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer has met the former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder in Berlin.

The Premier briefed Mr Schroeder on the latest developments concerning the Cyprus issue.

Mr Soyer also thanked Mr. Schroeder for his positive attitude towards North Cyprus and support to a balanced solution in Cyprus that suits the European Union.

For his part, the former chancellor said he was pleased to learn that the talks between the two sides were going well.

`The two sides can bring different proposals on some issues but the Premier is optimistic for a solution and the North Cyprus government believes that important progress can be achieved by mid-next year` Mr Schroeder added.

`We have agreed to organize a big celebration in case of reunification and I will be invited as well` he said, noting that he would be joining the celebrations with great pleasure.

Mr Schroeder said that the economic crisis facing the world and its possible effects on North Cyprus were also discussed.
Responding to a reporter’s question on the Greek Cypriot Leader’s statements concerning a solution in Cyprus, Prime Minister Soyer criticised him for just referring to some points of the 23 May Agreement that serve his interests.

The Premier pointed out that the 23 May Agreement reached between the two leaders envisages the establishment of a partnership state that will have a common international identity, sovereignty, foreign policy and representation in the European Union and the United Nations.
`Christofias who does not have the courage to tell the realities to his own people – is now ignoring some points of the agreement and talking only about single identity and sovereignty. This proves that Christofias does not take the issue seriously`, he said.

The Premier called on the Greek Cypriot Leader to adhere to the 23 May Agreement.

Isn't the former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder the head of the Russian Giant Gazprom division company "Nord Stream AG" and that he and Putin are close buddies. Considering how much concerns the TC's had just because of Christofias's trip to Russia last week, and yet by meeting with Gerhard Schroeder, the TC's expect anything different to come from him that will be different from Russia.

Halil Efendi,

Naturally the GCs dismiss any positive developments with anything to do with us Turkish Cypriots. I guess it's always been their policy!!!!

They just can't take it when we gain ground, use the Annan Plan against them and WILL USE the up and coming Unification failure against them again, but this time it will be permanent.

PM REITERATES TURKISH CYPRIOT SIDES DESIRE FOR A SETTLEMENT

Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer who is continuing his contacts in the German capital Berlin has reiterated the Turkish Cypriot Side’s willingness for a solution to the Cyprus Problem.

Soyer, who described the latest resolution adopted by the German Parliament on Turkish Cypriots as balanced, highlighted the importance of implementing the decision.

Within the framework of his contacts in Berlin, the Premier met with the co-chairman of the German Greens Party Cem Ozdemir.
The EU’s mistake of allowing the Greek Cypriot Administration into the European Union before a settlement was found on the island was highlighted by both men during the meeting.

“Now is not the time to bewail. The important thing is to find a solution to the Cyprus and to change those mistakes” said Soyer.
Criticizing the fact that Turkish has not been acknowledged as an official language of the EU, Soyer reminded that the so-called Cyprus Republic had two officials languages, Turkish and Greek.

“Despite the fact that the so-called Republic of Cyprus is an EU member, Turkish has still not been accepted as an official EU language” he added.
Underlining the importance of removing the international isolation of the Turkish Cypriots in order to speed up the process for a solution, the Prime Minister said that a resolution adopted by the German Federal Parliament in past legislative term was an important and balanced decision.

Touching on the issue of Environment, Prime Minister Soyer said that the government was considering plans to encourage eco-tourism in order to preserve the environment at the Karpaz Peninsula.
For his part, the co-chairman of the German Greens Party Cem Ozdemir reaffirmed his party’s support to finding a settlement in Cyprus.
“We are ready to do all that we can for a settlement. We believe that a settlement will be good for both sides. There is no problem that cannot be solved if there is the necessary will. Seeing that the Greek Cypriot Administration has entered the EU and is supposedly representing the whole island, then it is there responsibility to make gestures of good will” he said.

Explaining that the Greens Party was working with environmentalists from both sides of the divide, Ozdemir said that his party was deeply concerned with developments in the Karpaz region.
He also pointed out that much of the natural beauty and environment in North Cyprus has not been spoilt because of the international isolations.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer will be returning to the Republic tonight.

Within the framework of his weeklong contacts, the Premier met with the Secretary General of the German Social Democrat Party Hubertus Heil, the co-chairmen of the German Greens Party Claudia Roth and Cem Ozdemir, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, Federal Deputy for the SDP and head of Turkish-Cyprus policies coordination group Greg Andres as well as representatives of the Cyprus Youth Platform made up of Turkish Cypriot students.

I am increasingly drawing to the conclusion that all turkish and tc politicians are either schizophrenic or plain stupid.

- We don't recognise the Republic of Cyprus but we want Turkish in the EU cause it says so on the constitution we don't recognize.
- We consider the "trnc" a separate independent state yet we demand a part of the oil found on the south of the island because we were partners in the constitution we don't recognise.

Those salamis must be loaded with LSD.
