Let's see, EU has two member states at the bordering to Turkey ( I'm excluding Bulgaria as their issues need to be taken to their own forum ) which have constant border conflicts both in the med and in the aegean, something which is not nice at all (considering all the effort to squeeze Russia using ex-soviet nations) although it's at GR's cost.

If the issue is resolved 'within' Cyprus, all good, all set.

But otherwise, (as mentioned earlier) it's not acceptable to have any foreign troops residing somewhere in EU territory, it would be against European Security and Defence Policy, as well as making a mockery out of it at a global diplomatic scale.

More and more stakeholders on the island each day... The problem is either soon to come to an end, or it will doom the island forever.
