What a load of rubbish.
So far you have singled out just one member for the infamous GR! treatment, which has little effect and will continue to do so. And this member was one of your stronger supporters as well. Speaks volumes about your integrity and loyalty.
If what you say is true, then you would be going after every single GC member here. This includes your mates such as DT.
You gripe is childish and personal and has little to do with the way the majority of GCs identify themselves ethnically.
I think you are on the way out anyway.
My loyalty has remained steadfast to
Cyprus the sovereign country and not to individuals.
You seemingly cannot see the bigger picture which remains that of a tag-of-war between Greece & Turkey that can only mathematically lead to partition. Neither Greece nor Turkey care about
the sovereignty of Cyprus, but for their own selfish interests of influencing
our citizens in their direction at out destruction!
Why is an otherwise intelligent person like yourself unable to see this?
GR!, this has nothing to do with GCs respecting their ETHNIC roots. Just because GCs consider themselves as ethnically Greek, does not mean that they supported the Greek coup in 74, nor does it mean that they want any form of ENOSIS today.
Cyprus is an independent country, and a member of the EU. And Greece is doing her bit to support us. They were basically responsible for getting us into the EU, and they also try to give us any diplomatic assistance possible.
Cypriots need to be loyal to Cyprus. But you cannot wipe out 4000 years of history. We are ethnically connected to Greeks due to common language, culture, customs and religion. This has nothing to do with being a nationalist, or supporting any form of ENOSIS. It also does not mean we are not Cypriot Nationals, which is the more important factor as it is the Cypriot Constitution that protects the rights of each Cypriot, and Greeks are excluded as Cypriots are excluded from the Greek constitution. We are separate countries but are a similar people.
I do not see how we will be led to permanent partition by accepting our roots. However, your Governments policy of seeking a loose BBF solution with Turkish Guarantor Treaties may very well lead to the partition we all fear.
I understand you may be hurt about what Greece did in 74. Most of us are. But we need to forgive and show a united approach to try and achieve some kind of justice.
