Which Scotsman for Oracle?

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

THE HIGHLANDER is as Scottish as Mel Gibson in "Braveheart" ..... Just acting!

As was another wannabe Scot ... Devil ... But no staying power! The True test of a Scotsman (that plus the Kilt-test 8) )

Besides, there are a number of crypto-Scots; and also some partial-Scots like CBBB. And unfortunately some wayward-Scots living in the occupied area like Eric Seans (who otherwise sounds normal).

You've tossed a Wellie instead of a Caber Psycho

You mention Highlander, Devil, CBBB and Eric Seans but not Talisker! Is he your favourite :?: Does he get extra special treatment over the others?

By the way, I once won a Wellie throwing competition

Talisker always come across as a 'gentleman'. What do you call a Scots 'gentleman?. Too good for Oracle I think.

Perhaps Oracle can identify a real Scots from the fraudulent ones. On the other hand what harm have the Scots done to us to make them suffer at the hands of O? (apart from the Balck watch' and their garrisoning Cyprus since 1878.) Perhaps they deserve the Oracle treatment after all. :?

In parts of Glasgow, the areas still segregated by gang culture a gentleman is referred to as a "Bufty", in other areas of Scotland it refers to another type of person.

The problem with those who profess to be Scottish (and they are easily identified) is that they do not have the 'Bearing' of the true Scot and it is quite obvious when met face to face.

Through THIS medium , one has to rely on one's judgement and make assessments from what is written by them.

Unfortunately, the one individual most under recent scrutiny (mentioning no names) who refuses to accept responsibility for his actions (preferring to blame and condemn others) reveals himself to be the shadow of a real Scot. (IMHO).

I am convinced that he regards himself as something of a 'William Wallace' in his mind, but rapidly becomes more of a 'Rab C Nesbitt' when engaged in any dispute which might question his true identity.

There is a Scot (of my acquaintance) who lives in Edmonton, London and frequents the 'William 1V' public house on Fore Street, he lives in an apartment on the top floor of a local 'Tower Block' (his penthouse as he describes it) and he declares himself to be the only true 'Highriselander' in the vicinity.

He has charm and wit, is fiercely patriotic and wears the kilt of the 'Clan Douglas' with dignity and pride, not a man to be trifled with and certainly a credit to his forebears.

How sad that patriots such as he (and others who hail from the hardy land) so often bear the brunt of crude humour whilst others attempt to emulate their superior countenance.

I confess that I too have at times resorted to the base humour I have indicated BUT, I know from experience the value of the Scot's tenacity in times of strife, highly commendable. (IMHO).

I tend to agree with you Floda. If I may add, I have the pleasure in serving with some of the bravest men in the British and French forces who hail from Scottish Regiments.
Also the Jew in the UK has no better friend than the people of Scotland.

Is that because they have short arms and deep pockets when it comes to their round in the pub :)

I was wondering whether anyone else had noticed? If so, perhaps they would like to indicate which Scot she would be best suited to………. Highlander or Talisker.

Better ask Oracle!

So you're hiding from the Brits.... Yeah right. There are not that many 'William 1V' public houses on Fore Street, Edmonton, London.

I hope this fiercely patriotic true 'Highriselander Scot who wears the kilt of the 'Clan Douglas with dignity and pride stands his round and buys the beers.
