I have disagreed strongly with Papadopoulos's policies as the President of Cyprus. I have raised my voice on numerous occasions to object to the divisive nature of Papadopoulos who has deeply divided the Cypriot people during his 5 year tenure as President. However, at this moment, I cannot but wish him to get well and I would say the same be it Denktash or anyone else I do not see eye to eye.

Papadopoulos’ condition improves

FORMER president Tassos Papadopoulos’ condition was yesterday deemed stable, after doctors found his health had improved.

Papadopoulos, who has been in Nicosia General Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit since Saturday, had been through a series of tests early yesterday morning, while doctors banned visitors as he is “too tired”.

The results of his tests were later examined and according to his doctors, the possibility of Papadopoulos going abroad for treatment needs to be reviewed.

The former President of the Republic had been rushed to the General Hospital at midnight on Friday from the private clinic were he was being treated since Wednesday for respiratory problems.

Despite going through a hard time in the early hours of Sunday, Papadopoulos was yesterday said to be improving.

DISY leader Nicos Anastassiades, EDEK leader Yiannakis Omirou and DIKO spokesman Fotis Fotiou were among those who visited the hospital yesterday, while former President George Vassiliou arrived from abroad and drove straight to the hospital to offer his support.

Government Spokesman Stefanos Stefanou also expressed his support towards Papadopoulos and his family.

That is one of the stupidest things you have ever said CBBB and you sure know how to pick 'em.

I've just been hearing about how bankrupt the UK has been made by decades of ill-advised spending en masse, such that they now owe more than half the combined credit card debt of the whole of Europe and have a deficit greater than any other country in the World ... but all the present government know how to do is to encourage more spending, because somehow they have not figured that spending money they don' have, whilst they stand to lose their jobs, is what got the UK in the mess in the first place ... BUT this madness of spending fiscal resources (which the UK does not HAVE) has to be done, just to guarantee another election victory for this party and SOD looking after the long term economy.

When all is said and done, and even if you did not agree with Papadopoulos' CyProb policies (although the majority of Cypriots did), he at least led Cyprus into a healthy economy!

O, did I say anything that has not been substantiated?

I too wish him well, but he does have an unenviable track record (not related to his handling of the Cyprob, which I do disagree with).
