Re malaka! There were two submarines in sight of the Turkish invasion fleet and Fleet commander Arapakis ordered them to retreat to Rhodos. Two fucking torpedoes would have put an end to the invasion before it even started, but Greece chose not to interfere.
Brigadier Georgitsis, the commander ot the Cyprus National Guard, reported how he had to hang his phone outside his window to convince the assholes in Athens that the Turks were bombing Nicosia.
Georgitsis is not a Cypriot, he was a brigadier in the Greek army, posted to Cyprus because he was their man. And his Athens bosses told him on the phone "you are lying, you are reporting bombing inorder to involve Greece".
And you have the fucking nerve to tell us that Greece helped Cyprus in 1974! And to add insult to injury there is this "karamella" I hear every time the issue of treason is raised, that it was not Greece, it was the junta, as if the junta people were of some other nationality or other planet.
There were some people, mostly individual officers, like Alevromagiros, who forgot the treasonous orders and organized the defence of whatever areas they could with the resources they had. But these people were the exceptions not the rule.
The truth is that the junta made a deal for double union with Turkey. The Turks realised the fuck up and confusion and took advantage, double crossing the naive bastards who thought they could do something this drastic with no preparation or substantial force in place.

Where did Georgitsis retire? Do you ask yourself why he was not accused of anything? He set up a business in Thessaloniki and lived happily ever after. Never gave any interviews about his role in 1974.
It is simple- if he was accused he would raise his orders as a defence and the whole thing would be blown open.
Use your brain. If you do not it will go rusty.
