I copied it from wikipedia where it actually says "εἰς τὰν Πόλιν" [istamˈbolin] (modern Greek "στην Πόλι" [stimˈboli]), which means "in the city", "to the city" or "downtown".

You are right in ,Greek, you can use the expression for all the three cases

What's a diet?

A diet is when Halil will stuff himself with all the Kebabs under the sun as if the end of the world is tomorrow. Thats the way I'd like to go too.

Some kebab shops in London dont even know what parsley is.

We all come to world ones Deniz , there is no second time .......

I did not eat kebab in Istanbul this time, i had fish , mantı , boreks ,mussel dolmades , Mezes , Choban salad and lots of white wine also some raki ..... also i tried felafel and mexican food too .

We have had our first major snow down on the "flat-lands" of Switzerland this past weekend, but the white landscapes will once again turn green once the snow melts away.

Do you ski Kikapu? (got it right this time!)

I used to in the States many years ago, but in my "old age", I figured it was too dangerous to be coming down a mountain on skies, so I decided to be "safe" and do Schlitten - Sled runs instead on a course that is usually 3-5 km long as seen in this picture (not me). Well, last year I almost broke my wrist when I crashed into a safety net and early this year, someone almost broke my back when I was rammed from behind that knock the crap out of me.!

So much for safer sport.!

Can't wait to see what will happen in the upcoming snow season.!!

Bet you are not as old as Deniz though (I am safe for a while at least - he will be watching the football! )

Deniz belongs in the same special age group as Miltiades.!

Lets just say that they have been around the block few times.!

I belong to the special age group of Zan, Birkibrisli, Bananiot, MR-from-NG and Halil.!

Lets just say that we are keeping Deniz and Miltiades in our sights from a distance of few blocks away.!

I have to make a correction, that Zan does not belong to the same age group as described above, because he has NOT reached up to our level yet.

If I were to leave him in our group, then he would be seen as the baby of the group..............well, a BIG baby really.!

No, Zan belongs to another special group along with Viewpoint who have a limited understanding of politics, as shown with their prediction of OBAMA's defeat at the hands of McCain/Palin.

In fact, their political understanding of the Cyprus situation isn't much better really.!

But there is hope for them, since they are not too far behind my special age group, but they might as well be light years away from Deniz's and Miltiades's special age group.!

Halil, have you ever been outside Cyprus again- ? You describe Istanbul like you saw a miracle!!!Even you are surprised because underground announcing next station!!!!!

I agree Istanbul is one of the most beautiful cities i have ever visited and believe me i have visited many. I am in Istanbul once a year and i always enjoy it.

Above is my previous post - and reply also yours. My friend i never mixed up things/ I am very old to do so..Different thing the invasion, its supporters-different thing the people in the streets- just for your info my best friends are Turks in Istanbul and even my best coperators in business are there .
