Funny how some people think that their side is totally incapable of savagery. I wish Zan could be made to live some of those nights of 1958 in Nicosia. His attitude would change fast.

The nights following the "bombing" of the information office (odd how similar the event is to the "bombing" of Attaturk's house which led to the pogrom in Istanbul!!!) we were under curfew, (as usual for GCs), and the TMT "fighter" poured into our area, Alexandrou and Germanou Patron streets, two blocks off Ledra street, near the Lokmaci checkpoint. They shot at our houses, burned shops, and all this under the passive eyes of TC policemen and British officerw. There had been NO provocation of any kind by EOKA against TCs in our area.

A short time later the TMT shot a TC in our neighborhood.

The false flag operation of the "bomb" was detailed some time later by Denktash himself. I am sure you can look up his quote in his writings and in interviews.

Yeah, the quote's all over the place; he's very pleased with himself.
