False flag operations, 1958-1963

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

In the meantime I have spoken to author Costas Sophocleous, ex Secretary General of the Paphos District of AKEL but he could not remember the exact date off hand.

Cheers. I've e-mailed the Limassol District Office. Hopefully someone there remembers something!

However, he told me some interesting stories.

The attack took place after independence and he pointed his finger at the parastate, headed at the time by the leader of the "Organisation" Yiorgadgis and his lackeys (one of them later became President, with the backing of AKEL!).

He also told me of an official visit to Cyprus by a Bulgarian Minister, around 1964, whom he invited to Paphos. During a meeting of the District Secretariat with the Bulgarian Minister in Chloraka, a known member of the "Organisation" whose name begins with a P, through an ignited dynamite stick in the room. Someone managed to kick it away into the yard, just before it exploded.

Such was the state of affairs back then. The nationalists from both sides looked towards enclaving the people in their cause. In this endeavour they utilised all the dirty tricks of the book and targetting members of their own community was quite "normal" at the time.

Yeah, sadly, as you say, that was quite "normal" then.

Samarkeolog ... don't you feel like a fake trying to convince us of your being non-partisan?

I don't like to ask personal information of others on the forum, but since you try so hard to appear earnest in your approach, perhaps you would not mind telling me how you can put your Turkish ascendancy behind you ....

Maybe you can admit enough, to tell us from where in Turkey your ancestors hailed?

Oracle, you truly are a legend.

And, like so many legends, you're entertaining for a while, then so ridiculous it's boring.

My dad's from south-east England, and his parents' families from London and Newcastle; my mum's from north-east England, and her family too.

I guess if you went back far enough, I might have some Scottish blood in me from my mum's mum's... blablabla's side! Would that help you? No...

If you went back really far, I might have some Norman (from my dad's side) and some Norse (from my mum's side) in me.

Still no good... I guess you'll just have to accept that I'm tam İngiliz... You caught me! Okay, it's true, it's true, I admit it... I'm Agglos Agglos, nai, aly8eia, Agglos Agglos Agglos. God, I can't even pretend to be Turkish well...

If I were a Turk, would I have talked about the deep state and the false flag operations and the destruction of Greek Cypriot homes and churches and the trade in Greek Cypriot icons and other Orthodox Christian art and and and and...? Do you think I'm a self-hating Turk? If you did, surely you would like me! We could sit around together eating loukoumia and drinking Byzantino kafe and wishing Turks had never been born.

I don't know if it's difficult for you to understand someone who isn't bigoted and deceitful, or if it's difficult for you to believe someone can be non-partisan and earnest, but either way, it's not my problem. I guess we can all be reassured that you're making no effort at all even to appear non-partisan or earnest!

It seems that all organised nationalist attacks were false flag operations - extremists' attacks upon their own symbolic sites, which they blamed on their enemies to frighten their own community and force it to accept their own extremism.

This was a Turkish/TC invention from 1958 with the bomb outside of the Turkish consulate which they used as an excuse to attack innocent Greek Cypriots and start the inter-communal conflict. The attacks against Greek Cypriots were very real of course (caught on video) and also real was the suffering (from both sides) as a result of the conflict that TCs started in 1958.

So you attacked innocent unarmed people starting the inter communal conflict because our fighters fought against the British colonial forces, which some treasonous TCs choose to join??

The video above is from the 7th of June 1958. Then on 12th of June 8 more innocent and unarmed Greek Cypriots were massacred by TMT near Geunyeli.

Maybe you wanted us to just sit there and look without reacting while you were looting our homes and shops and massacring innocent people? We were forced into this conflict because we had to defend ourselves from your attacks.

It is a fact that it is the TCs who started the inter-communal conflict, and it is about time you admit it since you are not able to provide any evidence to the contrary.

Hhhmmm

Methinks, thou doth protest too much! :?

Can you explain the use of arkeolog in your nick ... it does ring of Turk!

Besides, those who think they are the most impartial, are the ones to watch out for .... (limited reasoning).

Best to proclaim which side you are speaking from, and let others judge; rather then pretend through ignorance, or intent to deceive, that you are impartial ... when all your work suggests the most bizarre pro-Turkish leanings I have had the displeasure to examine for a goodly while ...

Until then EOKA was fighting against the colonialists so the Cypriot people could gain their self-determination and democratically decide the destiny of their own island.
