The opening of the new Pafos International Airport is a fact!
The new Pafos International Airport came into full operation today, welcoming its first passengers. The check in counters of the new Pafos International Airport opened at 8.30 in the morning. The first departure took place at 10.30 a.m. with the Cyprus Airways flight to London Heathrow Airport. The first passengers arrived at 10:55 a.m. with the FIN Air flight, from Helsinki.
The first day of operation of the new Pafos International Airport was crowned with complete success, without experiencing any operational or technical difficulties. The passengers seemed very satisfied and excited by the new facilities and by the high level of services that will be offered at the new Pafos International Airport.
The successful opening of the new Pafos International Airport is the result of a hard effort but it is also the launching of a new era for the airports of Cyprus. It is worth noting that it involved hard and methodical work by all the involved parties, both by Hermes Airports and its collaborators including the government agencies. All and especially the residents of the Pafos district feel proud of the new airport.

Good to see the Paphos Airport commencing operations without a glitch. The new terminal will be capable of handling 2,700,000 passengers at full capacity.
Cyprus at last looks to have a world class airport.
Larnaca International is also undergoing a major upgrade to terminal facilities. Larnaca will be capable of handling over 9,000,000 passengers pa, once the new terminal commences operations in Nov 09.
