The answer is quite simple, us Brits find most members of this forum to be unfriendly and uncouth with little better to do than spout off verbal garbage to new British forum members. Other than that the weather forecast on here is pretty good.

Regards Lucky Jim.

Well said Lucky Jim...........I can remember not so long ago when this forum was one of the best informative forums available to Brits thinking of making the move to Cyprus !!!! But now its content is more likely to put them off never mind they are probably doing us a favour in the long run...............the transition from the horse & cart to the Mercedes and BMW seems to have evolved too early !!!!

Highlander,

Good to see you back. I was actually thinking just the other day what happened to you and few others. Last time you posted a while back, you were opening a business in Cyprus, hence the fact you were not going to have too much time for the rest of us on the forum, and now you tell us that you have been back home in Scotland for the last 12 months.....so what happened Highlander.?

Also glad to see Niki back.

Hoots Man its Kikapu howz it going.............arrived 10th January 07 then left 31st Oct 07 had a brilliant time but got fed up of the dog eat dog eat cat too survival techniques of trying to scratch a living on the island...........thinking of coming back soon but probably just for a holiday and some unfinnished business.

How's sunny Dundee, Highlander? I know it (too) well.
Cheers,
Talisker

 Do you know Oracle? Did either of you ever run into her? I am sure she has mentioned something about Dundee somewhere on here!

or was it cake?

And how would they know if they had bumped into me? I am not the only Dundee cake guzzling, shortbread biccy munching, Clooty dumpling dining, Arbroath smokey loving foodie in the place!

.... and watch it if you say anything about my weight  .... the melons are turning back to lemons!

That's because that is not food! It is the remnant of an autopsy. Same goes for white puddin' (and I am too polite to say what part of the [male] anatomy that resembles  ).

I always cook it for hubby (and Co) and once tried vegetarian haggis which was a wholly unnecessary gesture as my napkins taste nicer :D ... But I love tatties and neeps, preferably creamed with lots of butter and coarsely ground pepper ....

But my favourite bit of Burns' night (after the delights of the recital and stabbing) is Athol Brose ... that is the heavenly pud! 8)

Where have I ever said I hate the British?

Your problem is you believe the hype above the reality.

The only ones I hate are the Turks ... and only because they directly tried to KILL me, and later divided my country and ethnically cleansed 40% of it from my compatriots

The Brits were nasty ... but they have some redeeming points ....
