I always cook it for hubby (and Co) and once tried vegetarian haggis which was a wholly unnecessary gesture as my napkins taste nicer ... But I love tatties and neeps, preferably creamed with lots of butter and coarsely ground pepper ....
But my favourite bit of Burns' night (after the delights of the recital and stabbing) is Athol Brose ... that is the heavenly pud!
Never heard of this one - recipe please?
Is there a laird of Athol? I am sure that I met him a few years back.

There are many versions some make it more drink-like, but here is the one I use, and I sometimes add fresh raspberries to it too
45g Oatmeal
60g Roughly chopped blanched almonds
350ml Double cream
60ml Drambuie / Whisky
2 tbsp Honey (Greek! )
1 tbsp Lemon juice
Basically: whip the cream and fold in the other liquids. Follow with the oatmeal and most of the almonds. Divide into four bowls and sprinkle with the rest of the almonds and some fruit (to make it look healthy ).
Tarrum .... takes 10 minutes. Ideal pud!

Thanks Kikapu, I call in occasionally.
Yeah I know, but you don't hang around long enough to "talk" with you anymore.
Take care.
You will just have to attend our next luncheon Kipaku and then Niki will 'talk' honestly!

That would be a very nice idea, SSB. All I have to do is get my butt over to Cyprus one of these days.
You must have had hiccups while you were writing my name.!
