Thanks Tim Drayton,

I admire The UK for annexing Northern Ireland in the late 1960s, that's what Turkey should have done in 1974!

You keep changing your story by the hour… one minute you want a “partnership” the next annexation, and tomorrow I’ll wager a lobotomy.

I did say that I wasn't a Fascist! I am very far from such a label - believe me.

I'm open to anything but GC Control/Domination Get Real. I'm open to a fair BBF deal, a Confederation of Two Founding States, or annexation as Northern Cyprus under Turkey's Republic.

you are discussing the Cyprus issue with a very open-minded, diplomatic individual whom knows the history of Cyprus, has experienced many decades of Cypriot moments - both good and bad, and knows to stay away from Ultra-Nationalists deep rooted in re-starting a Conflict - on both sides of the border.

I visit Cyprus at least 4 times a years, and have both Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot friends who think along the same lines. I am probably the most understanding Turkish Cypriot you'll ever know!

I like your line of question, your arguments and especially when you get angry and give away your hatred to TCs at times.

It would be nice to see how far you'd go in agreeing to a compromise on the Cyprus issue GR, as you never know who I personally know!

Take Care mate.

Aren't these two choices you have accepted as peace mean the same thing MrH.?? So where is the "I'm open to anything but GC Control/Domination" statement you made above. It is more like "shall I take the north this way or shall I take the north that way regardless what the majority Cypriots thinks". I have already told you, that BBF does not mean Confederation, but a Federation. It does not say BBC. A True Federation and True Democracy and Human Rights safeguards will protect every citizen in Cyprus which is what you should be asking for, but you want to instead violate others Human Rights by forming a State on land that belongs to others, and you foolishly expect peace to come out of this. Are you for real MrH, or haven't you heard of a place called Israel not too far from Cyprus who did the same thing and after 60+ years later, they still do not have peace with the Palestinians. I guess you must approve what the Jews did to the Palestinians, do you MrH, because I can assure you, that the Turks and the TC's did not approve what the Jews did to the Palestinians before 1974. Funny how one's moral values changes on a dime when it suits them.

You must realise that since 1974 you have been fighting a mini "cold war" with the TRNC. "Winning" that war may prove to be the easy bit. "Winning" the peace will be when the real trouble starts. One of the main purposes of the TRNC coming to a solution with you will not be so that you can start kissing/hugging each other, it will be so that the North can enjoy the fruits of the EU which you have been so enjoying since 2004. Obviously, the EU will see Cyprus as a whole (as it always has and you have always claimed) and any funds that are granted to Cyprus will be directed to its neediest areas. The money will be spent in the North and the work will be done by whoever is best capable and most competitive. This is highly unlikely to be TC's, much as you may like it to be.

First of all, your reference to me as "you" V's the "trnc", the TC's, the north is misplaced. It may help YOU to find out just who YOU are referring "you" to before YOU jump to conclusions. It might even shock you.!

Second of all, you have not addressed any of my questions to you.

The north and the TC's are already enjoying the fruits of the EU. What prevents them from enjoying even more, is the north and the TC's themselves by wanting to agree on a peace deal that basically grants the north to the TC's at the expense of the GC's and allow legal partition to take place in the future, hence the insistence on a Confederation = Annan Plan kind of a "peace" deal. As long as the north and the TC's make these demands, then they will only enjoy what ever the south will allow them to enjoy with regards to the EU benefits and political recognition. The north has tried to go on their own for the last 30+ years and has not gotten them anywhere in achieving the above. Only after the crossings were opened, that the north began to benefit, but unless there is a honest settlement that is Fair and Just, there won't be even a chance to try and win the peace, because the "war" will just continue. Peace can only be won if both sides want it, and so far, we have not had peace.
