What is the media saying about this madness?

What date was this? I am listening to Halils radio (Bayrak 1) and had no mention yet.

National Guard mortar narrowly misses village residential area
(archive article - Wednesday, October 1, 2008)
A MORTAR shell used in a National Guard exercise exploded just 50 meters from a residential area in the village of Pyrga in Larnaca yesterday afternoon.
According to Pyrga Community Leader, Christakis Constantinou, “at around 4.45pm a deafening explosion was heard. People ran to see what was going and found debris from the shell just 50 metres from houses, where people were working and young children were playing,” he said.
Constantinou complained that “when the National Guard is firing in the area they do not take all necessary safety measures. This is not the first time that this has happened,” he said and noted that “every time there is target practice the residents of Pyrga do not know whether something will fall on them or their houses and their children”.
The “Ministry of Defence and the National Guard Headquarters must understand that there is a problem with the firing range,” Constantinou added. He said the community would for the firing range to be shut down. “We don’t care where the National Guard will go to practice, let them go to Troodos, let them go to the sea as long as they are not here,” he said.
Defence Minister Costas Papacostas, said that “the shell veered off course and fell in an uninhabited area and that the case will be investigated”. He also added that “all security measures are taken although there is always room for improvement”.
