Postby halil » Mon Nov 17, 2008 1:18 pm

The two leaders in Cyprus will continue the Cyprus negotiations process with another meeting this afternoon.
The meeting between President Mehmet Ali Talat and the leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration Demetris Christofias will start at four o’clock.

The talks are still being held under the first chapter- Governance and Power-Sharing- where governance, federal executive, legislation and judiciary have mainly been negotiated.

Speaking to the press at the end of the previous meeting held between the leaders last Thursday, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advisor on Cyprus Alexander Downer said that the leaders predominantly discussed the judiciary and that good progress was made on the issue.

He added that ‘deadlock-resolving mechanism’ will be discussed at today’s meeting which will take place at the building allocated for the talks in the UN-controlled buffer in Nicosia.
