SECOND PART OF SCHEME ON MAKING LABOUR MARKET MORE INCLUSIVE FUNDED
Grants of between 10.000 and 50.000 Euros will be provided to enterprises, career counselling and training institutions, as part of the second part of the EU grant scheme for Turkish Cypriots on `making the labour market more inclusive`.
In total, 750,000 Euros are saved for the scheme which is funded under the EU Financial Assistance Regulation for Turkish Cypriots- worth of 259 million Euros.
The grant scheme is primarily aimed at offering support to upgrade the skills of workers, employees and the unemployed through providing funds for training courses, internship scheme and the upgrade of technological equipment.
The scheme is divided into two strands; one covering the projects which do not include the purchase of new equipment, and the other consisting of projects aiming to upgrade skills.
Applicants can jointly apply for the two strands.
The deadline for applications is the 20th January 2009.
