FANATICS ATTACK TURKISH CYPRIOT CARS IN SOUTH CYPRUS !!!!!!!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Bananiot,

So why did Ball not say outright what his masters wanted when he was asked what Cyprus could do to please the USA, or desist from acts that would piss them off?

Ball is not a man to mince words.

The fact is that nothing we could do would please or pacify the machine that sets USA foreign policy. The existence of a large communist party in Cyprus was more of a catalyst than the policy of Makarios.

Perhaps we should have folowed the Greek example and outlawed AKEL, banned their newspaper and shoved our citrus and grape products up our chute, since they were sold to Russia. And all of us should have become card carrying members of EDMA which was a US creation, just to prove that we were not about to sell our asses to the Russians.

As to the Russian arms, as far as I remember they were taken by our mainland Greek officers and handed over to the UN for safekeeping. Makes you wonder if the same would have happened if we bought stuff "Made in USA".

I remember Russian tanks roaming the country side well after the initial intercommunal fighting siezed. I think you refer to the Czech rifles that were held at the International Airport in Nicosia. But, the S300, is a better example to use, I think. They never came to Cyprus let alone taken by the UN, because had they arrived ,war with Turkey was inevitable. In fact Turkey became a key player in Cyprus not in 1974 nor in 1960 but way back in the early 50's, when contrary to wise advise from successive Greek Premiers, Makarios twisted the hand of the Greek Government in 1953 to take the Cyprus issue to the UN and thus internationalised the Cyprus issue, inviting Turkey into the scene.

And of course it would be the fault of Cyprus for bringing a defensive weapon, and not the fault of Turkey for making the attack. Right Bananiot?

Not quite Viewpoint. It was another excuse to have another day off. It is not an official holiday but pupils rush into the streets, supposedly to condemn the declarionion of the pseudo state. We even close the schools in order to celebrate "school day" on the 30th of January.

Which means they understand how provocative and hostile their actions are against us.

And why do TC school children come to the free areas for school?

You can’t say you haven’t been warned enough times… if you cared about your family you’d get out of Cyprus wouldn’t you?
