To be honest GR!, you are a prime example of why I sometimes feel despondent about Cyprus. You are the stupidest man in Cyprus to think you could just waltz in here and re-write history.

If anything it’s the Greeks that have been writing history as they please.

They don’t know where reality begins and mythology ends… Image

I like Greek mythology.

Your feelings about Greek mythology and philosophy just prove what a low life simpleton you are.

You have even gone to the extent of denying the existence of Greek settlements in Cyprus.

To even consider mentioning or comparing the ancient Cypriots with British convicts dropped off in Australia in the 1700s goes to show how foolishly condescending you are to Cyprus.

Are you half Greek by any chance like Oracle because it would explain a lot…

Now you are verging on the ridiculous.

I would go as far as saying my Greek mother is more Cypriot than you GR! She lived on Cyprus for longer than you claim to have done, has never wanted Enosis with Greece (even in the 50's) but unlike you, she does not sell her soul to the devil by either insulting Cypriot history with your over-blown, trumpet-blowing, ridiculous, condescending attitude to the Choirokitians, nor would she insult her Hellenic origins to appease the Turks!

You would crumble so fast under torture, to deny anything you are told to .....

I don't know what to make of this weird piece... you're probably sobbing Greek mythological tears! Image

GR! .... I see your dream of Cypriot Elitism has regressed to Kafeneio style antics!

You and Michalis can play tavli and discuss how you can gain more saddo recruits.

BTW ... have you discussed politics with your new compatriot? Did you know he was fervently anti-Papadopoulos which is why he hates me ... and I think he may even have voted YES to you-know-what!

Maybe a little more vetting than the rantings of a desperado to be taken notice of, is called for

Did Mycenaeans really exist or are they a figment of Homer’s imagination like the rest of Greek mythology?

“Maggidis, director of the Dickinson College Excavation Project and Survey in Mycenae, thinks he knows where the rest of the people, until now absent from the archaeological record, might be.”

Yeah, in Homer’s head…

Can either of you two, give us an undisputable definition of 'Colony' as referred to the 'Travelling Greeks' in Cyprus.

Also thanks for all the above info you all have gathered and posted. Both sides are credible. As usual, its the historians and the archealogists who are at loggerheads as to how these 'colonisations' or migrations of people have taken place. Keep it up.

I think I belong to the Chiroikitian school of thought. Keep up the good work boys. Its all fascinating reading.

Deniz,

Do you not have Hellenic ancestry yourself?

I remember reading about it.

No Deniz is of Choirokitian origin .

Even if the island had hellenic roots now it is independent . Independence = separate nationality and ethicity unless you give us an example of a country that is indepenedent and does not have a separate ethnicity.

Ethnicity is something that is not directly related with the borders of a country. Not every country has its own unique ethnicity, and not each country is made up by citizens of just one ethnicity.

Here is a 1923 map of ethnicity of Europe:

GR! you are seriously overdoing the 'super-Cypriot' routine and are in danger of becoming the new Miltiades. We all know you're a Cypriot and you love Cyprus so please stop waving your e-penis in everyone's faces and stop talking about a handful of cavemen like they were the greatest civilisation on Earth.

Fair enough you don't want to be 'Greek' or have anything to do with Greece but trying to convince yourself that you come from some forgotten ancient civilisation is beyond delusional. There is more chance that you're a Tourkosporo than a pure-blood ethnic Choirokitian so just accept it and move on.
