Some examples:

The mostly British Australians did it, but they still kept the British flag in their flag. Same with New Zealanders, but they kept not only the flag but also the English Queen as their own Queen. Both countries have English as the official language.

To even consider mentioning or comparing the ancient Cypriots with British convicts dropped off in Australia in the 1700s goes to show how foolishly condescending you are to Cyprus.

Can either of you two, give us an undisputable definition of 'Colony' as referred to the 'Travelling Greeks' in Cyprus.

Also thanks for all the above info you all have gathered and posted. Both sides are credible. As usual, its the historians and the archealogists who are at loggerheads as to how these 'colonisations' or migrations of people have taken place. Keep it up.

Ethnicity is something that is not directly related with the borders of a country. Not every country has its own unique ethnicity, and not each country is made up by citizens of just one ethnicity.
