Cyprus is a very safe country in relative terms. There are no real dodgy areas.
But i would caution against walking in the countryside on a wednesday or Sunday between november and janurary.

Of course there are safe areas in the UK. Where did I imply otherwise?

These are hunting days. The comment may have been made in jest, but I go walking in the hills and quite seriously avoid the Cyprus countryside on these days. Not everybody who goes hunting appears to be very proficient at using their rifles, and there are always accidents.

I will take my chances getting pepperd with shot in Cyprus rather than walk in Bow or Mile End at any time.

There a no hunters in Cyprus with rifles. Shotguns are the only legal firearm used. You have more chance of been involved in a car accident on your trip to the mountains than been shot.

Not if you are a hunter. How many got shot on the first day of this season? I know their were 27 injured, but I am not sure if they were all shot.
