Thanks for the clarification. I would guess that a left wing govt would let the EU deal with the Cyprus problem so as to remove a right wing chest beating cause?

But it shows how low down the lists of things to do, even in Greece, the Cyprus problem is. Let the Cypriots sort it out, "why expend and diplomatic/political capital on it" might be an outside view and that includes the EU. After all they did open Turkey's negotiation while it occupies 30% plus of a member state! Begs the questions how important is that state?
