CATTLE BREEDERS STAGE A PROTEST AGAINST THE BRITISH BASE OFFICIALS

Cattle breeders in the village of Beyarmudu protested against difficulties being raised by the British Base officials in the area.

Yesterday, protestors gathered at the checkpoint in the village and attempted to cross the border into South Cyprus with trucks laden with bales.

The attempt sparked a row between the protestors and British officials and protestors set the bales into fire.

Speaking to the Bayrak Radio and Television during the protest, the villagers said they had serious losses due to the difficulties being raised by the British officials and called on the government to find an immediate solution to their problems.

The Head of the British Customs in the area assured the protestors that he will find a solution to the problem in case of ending the protest.

He also said the issue will be discussed at a meeting to be held between the British officials and the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce on Monday.

The protesters announced that they will continue their protests unless any solution will be found to the problem.

Crisis between Beyarmudu (Pergamos) villages and SBA is solved today.
From now on villagers will get certificate from village Muhtar to take their bales .With Muhtar certificate they can take the bales to their barns.

even if the bales comes from Turkey there will be no problem .They should inform the SBA one day before the goods come to check point.
