The Executive argument

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The Executive argument

Postby DT. » Thu Nov 06, 2008 2:54 pm

Please pay attention to the new proposal given by Talat as written in Politis.

A system whereby 2 leaders of the 2 statelets are chosen by their respective citizens who will take turn (alternating each year) to lead the Federal govt. Gc taking 3 years and TC taking 2 years.

He rejects an alternating Presidency (as proposed by Christofias) with a President and VP on a joint ticket voted for by the entire population because....get this.....EVEN THOUGH IT WILL BE A TC'S TURN TO BE PRESIDENT, THE GC'S WILL HAVE THE POWER TO ELECT THE TC PRESIDENT THEY WANT AND NOT THE TC PRESIDENT WE (THE TC'S) WANT.

Ladies and gentlemen we have moved onto a new era of authoritarianism, racism and protectionism of a community. We not only want 18% of the population to elect a leader who will rule 100% of the population. We ALSO want that same 18% of the population to be able to pick him/her and disualify the remaining 82% from even voting!!!!

The fate of these talks has now been determined beyond any doubt! The imminent collapse is near.

The TC's dont want a solution. They are playing a game. What Talat is doing is very clever. He is making all the right noises to suggest he wants this sorted so he can get more international rights for the TRNC. If he show that the talks have failed because of the GC's he will win International support.

The problem is he isnt dealing Paps any more who isolated the international communitie he is dealing with a statesman who is talking Britain, America and the rest of the EU and making them aware of what is actually happening.

I dont know if any of you have realised but the talk coming out of the EU is very supportive of the GC's plight.

The rest of Europe will realise that Turkey cant be trusted and boom goes you puppet state.

Talat's proposals:

One fiffth of the population will choose a president who becomes vice president of the whole and president of the whole for 2/5 of the term without a single vote of the 4/5 being cast for him. In addition the Cabinet will be split 4 to 3 and no change of ministers will be possible during the term of the presidency since the appointment of ministers needs approval by separate majorities in the upper chamber. In short, an unworkable system intended to drag the GC side down into a morass.

Personally I am not taking note of what is being leaked about about the talks.

I am quite willing to wait until a the two leaders have agreed on a plan which is then properly explained and analysed for the people to make their own minds up.

Hopefully the media and politicians will allow the plan to be properly explained this time!

add to that that they will not need all 18% but just 9% and most of them would be settlers  Crhistofias should tell Talat that we are tired of their old jokes and we don't find them funny anymore. If Talat wants a solution he has to stop making jokes.
