Good news for Cytanet users...

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

I was really exited that my Home1000 will become Home2000 and I really enjoyed it the first 10 days...
Cause for 15 days now, not only I don’t have 2048/384, but sometimes I get from 3 (yes 3kbps!!) download with from 20 kbps upload.

From 15/12/2008 till today 29/08/2008, I’ve been calling and wait from 20 m to 1 hour to talk with the call center, to hear in the beginning that I need to reset my dsl-modem and restart my pc (lol), not wanting even to admit there is a bigger problem that affects not only me, but several other users in Larnaca. I understand there is a certain protocol they need to follow with every user, but come on, 15 days it must be a serious tech problem, shouldn’t we at least be informed and get some information a real estimate of how long this is going to continue and maybe an apology?

I wonder how this is going to show on my month bill

These are the results now; in 10 min they will be different and then different again and again....

The problem still isn't fixed.
They have called me at last, admiting there is a techical problem and that they are doing there best to resolve it.
To be honest, today the 22nd day of this situation makes me wonder how good there technicians are for this to go on without resolution for so long.

The interesting thing is that i have normal speed from midnight till maybe noon and then again problems.
Tomorrow i ll try to contact them again and if no resolution i ll try cablenet.

Have you logged OFF and ON from both CYTA and NetRunner because you're meant to for the new speed to work.

I had reasonable service from CYTA on the internet, but had problems with the TV signal every now and then.

I changed to Spidernet/Primetel about 6 months ago because they were a lot cheaper, but now every night after about 10:30 everything (TV, internet and phone) goes on the blink for about 40 minutes. It still works, but the TV shows half a frame every 5 seconds, the internet is very slow and if you are talking on the phone it keeps cutting out. This is normally at the end of a film I am trying to watch!!!! I have been given all sorts of excuses and they are not interested when I try to explain that it appears to be time dependent (some bit of kit that starts in or near the exchange at a particular time?).

I am now thinking of going with Cablenet, but have no feedback on what there service is like and they don't have enough film channels to keep my other half happy (probably add a Dreambox).

So any experiences of Cablenet in the Aglangia area anyone?

£15.00

I wanted 20megs but my BT lines are too old. I might change to Virgin's fibre glass and get the 20megs + tel for £20.

That's dirt cheap... but what would you do with 20 Megs? DL movies, games, and that? Btw, did you mean fiber optic because fiberglass is something else.
