However, it is not placed in the right locality, and is still trading under the banner of a "Superpower".

Good luck to the new President of the World.

But, he ultimately is a politician. As such he will behave like one. We kept on hearing about the 'change'. Now he is faltering in his opening speech, saying these changes will take a long time to achieve (he was talking in terms of years). All that says to me there will be no 'change' in his foreign policies in the near future. Is that good or bad, time will tell and not the 'oracles' nor Nostrilamus'.

Another possibility could be Iran. And it is just the kind of country that may flex its muscle against Israel. If Iran develops a viable nuclear capability, then Iran may be a budding superpower.
