Then why do you depend so much on your motherland?

Not very Cypriot!

Please provide 'credible evidence' about my 'motherland'. I am intrigued.

Deputy Prime Minister-Foreign Minister Turgay Avci has once again reacted to statements made by Greek Cypriot Leader Demetris Christofias on the issue of guarantees in Cyprus.

Avci said that scrapping the guarantees is out of question for the Turkish Cypriot Side.

The Greek Cypriot leader in an earlier statement had said that modern countries did not require guarantor powers.

You are always telling us that you depend on Turkey for your existence.

That is a gross dependence on the motherland. Is it not?

It is OK for you to be attached to Turkey's hip, but the minute 1 of us express close cultural ties to Hellenism, you guys jump up and down like drama queens.

I don't recall any post by Deniz in which he spoke of depending on Turkey for his existence.

I thought you were referring to my status. My motherland is Cyprus. Period. But I would enjoy seeing you debate this issue with GR.(re: Greekness v Hellenism)

GR! is just playing into your hands. And I am not referring to you but the majority of your fellow TCs and your leadership which is nothing more than a Turkish puppet representing Turkey's interests on the island.

Cyprus has abandoned any desires for ENOSIS with Greece. But the people will not abandon the cultural ethnic links to Greece or Hellenism. Exactly the same with the TCs. I am positive that most TCs will still consider themselves Turkish, and if that is what they want, then that is fine. This does not preclude anyone from being a Cypriot national, but both communities should have the right to identify with an ethnic group should they wish to do so. Loyalties should still be with Cyprus, first and foremost.

GR!s argument was defunct long ago, thanks to Piratis, who shot him down in flames.

It smacked of crude generalisation to me.
