This is peasant mentality which ALOT of Cypriots are cursed with IMO. The need to belong somewhere...as if Cyprus simply isn't enough. There has to be more.

The Greek islands were occupied by Germans and Italians during the war, but i didnt see any animosity towards them while i was there.
I have met some wonderful people here in Cyprus, warm and generous, but once i am out of my 'area of recognition' then it sometimes becomes a different story.
Some individuals however do undermine the Cypriot Strenght of character by adopting a defeatist ethos or from rejecting the islands Hellenism just to appease the Turks, or because they have some chip on their shoulder and blame Greece for our predicament.
