Help me get the settlers out

AN ELDERLY Turkish Cypriot man yesterday appealed to the Cyprus government to help him remove a family of Turkish settlers from his home in north Nicosia.
Dervlis Niayazi, 74, told reporters he wanted to bring his case before the European Court of Human Rights. He said the house was left to him by his parents who died between 1964 and 1974. He himself was living in the house but later moved to London and rented it out to other Turkish Cypriots,
However he said when they left a family of settlers began squatting there and he has been unable to move them. The police and Mayor of North Nicosia have not helped him, he said.
Niayazi said spoke with Turkish Cypriot television to highlight his plight but it wasn’t aired, adding that he also fears for his life over the issue.
“I want to go to the human rights court to secure my rights,” he said.
