Turkish Cypriot Healthcare

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I accept there are many problems with the NHS some of which you have highlighted. However it is a fact that it still delivers more treatment per pound spent than any private system anywhere in the world. What needs to be done imo, is keep this highly efficent system and remove and reduce the problems - not scrap and privatise the whole system - but we are way off topic now, so appologies to all for this.

The most practical solution to all this to completely and utterly privatise the supply of medical services.

Both GC and TC should pay CASH UP FRONT to get their syphilis and ftires off! The problem with some GCs and some TCs is that they all bludge too much off the government. To these GCs and TCs I say Get a job you free loading bums.

(bludge Australian for get stuff for free- without earning it; bludger = one who bludges)

Cyprus needs No Money no honey health care.

right cause if you dont got any money you dont deserve to have your syphilis treated.

doesnt seem like a very cypriot way of thinking. this in combination with that weird language you write is starting to make me think you're not really from cyprus only you wish you were.

Public health should be limited to de-lousing.

Turn your head and cough.

That is a very uncivilised way to think, i work and pay big taxes but still believe health care should be free.

The problem with Turkish Cypriots is that they do not work in south and they do not get salaries from the RoC government, naturally they do not pay taxes. They do not own houses, they do not own cars, they do not own anything that make them pay taxes. But free health care has nothing to do with paying taxes. Ok it is true that health care is free because people pay taxes, but the government cannot bar some part of the republic's citizens from enjoying free health care, because they do not pay taxes, and even though they let people to be treated freely without paying taxes, this has nothing to do with the "good will of the RoC govt" imo. Paying taxes and free health care are not directly connected to each other. But if the Greek CYpriots are not happy with that procedure, they can well ask their government to stop this free health care for the "Republic of Cyprus citizens who speak Turkish". I wonder what EU would react regarding this!

So all of the Turkish Cypriots enjoy free healthcare but not the majority of the Greek Cypriots? I am puzzled though....
