Glafkos Klerides: Not to be missed

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Glafkos Klerides: Not to be missed

Postby Bananiot » Tue Oct 28, 2008 8:47 am

Tonight (Tuesday 28/10/2008) Sigma tv will show an interview of Glafkos Klerides at around midnight, or perhaps just before. I have seen exerpts of the interview and the old man is at his best.

He argues (very convincingly) that this is the last opportunity to solve the problem and in another instance he tells of how the Greek Prime Minister told him that Greece could not help Cyprus (between the first and the second round in 1974) and that he himself offered to lead a convoy of warships to Cyprus but the army told him that none of the ships would ever reach the island.

I urge everyone to see it.

I thought he said the AP was our last chance and that we would all be living in an abyss of disaster now?

I use to think he was an intelligent and astute individual. He was a Mosquito Pilot.

But I do not know what happened when he became President? A good example of old age Cognitive Decline.

The guy is delusional to think that these peace talks are our final opportunity.

Why would a former leader use a fear campaign against his own people so that we accept any unfair peace settlement which hands Cyprus over to Turkey?

Oh forgot to mention....

The mere fact that you admire him so much, is enough to turn my stomach and result in me despising him even further.

I call this the Bananiot Kiss Of Death.

That is good Paphitis, I wouldn't have it any other way! This is called dissociation of the unlike, if you can get my drift.

When a man of the stature of Klerides talks the Paphitis's of the world should just shut up and listen.

Got it loud and clear, and I too would not have it any other way.

I have had enough of reading defeatist crap on this forum.

Get it through you thick heads - the more you use a fear campaign against the Cypriot population, then the more chance of another resounding NO vote at the next referendum.

Cypriots are not stupid!
