Glafkos Klerides: Not to be missed

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Bananiot wrote:How about Klerides DT? Do you agree with everything that is thrown at the old man by some forumers?

Kifeas is being more than naive to believe that the policies of the USA will change because a new man will occupy the white house. This is a ridiculous notion that cannot seriously stand up to criticism. It is also naive to believe that the EU will come to our aid and help us out in case Turkey pushes for recognition of the "TRNC". It is extremely absurd to believe this when since 2004 nobody in the EU talks about the Turkish occupation but basically the EU seems more concerned at lifting the (so called) economic isolation of the Turkish Cypriots. The world, as Kifeas envisages it will not be with us for quite a few eons yet and this is a fact well known to the great Greek minds in the classical period and Kifeas will do well to start studying them.

His inability to comprehend the way the world is run causes, it seems, great frustration to Kifeas, so much that recently he came to adopt fully the Denktash line on the Cyprob and he is now calling for an agreed partition as long as we get 82% of the land.

Bananiot, I sympathize with your wish to try to discredit me, but you need to eat some more bread-loafs to stand a chance. I have not said that the change of president in the US will change this country's policies. What I only said is that if there is some remote possibility that the US may ever consider recognizing the "trnc," with the election of Obama it will become even more remote than it would potentially be under a Bush or any other republican administration. Quite different from what you have claimed above, isn’t it?

I am not trying to discredit you Kifeas, you manage perfectly well, by yourself. You do not need me. Obama, might just, but this is a remote possibility, derecognise Kossovo and FYROM by the name of Macedonia. In fact he might just tell China and France off for voting in favour of Turkey becoming a non permanent member of the Security Council.

Bananiot wrote:Nikitas you have repeatedly referred to what Klerides said to Panayiotarea and also to the aegean issues between Greece and Turkey. I would like to question your notion that we are totally justified in our claims and that Turkey is always the bad boy. In fact, every time I hear or see in the news tha Turkey is at it again, I always think that there is something the Greek government wants to hide from the people and tries to divert attention by employing an old trick, the fear of the eternal enemy. I must admit, it always works but this is always at the expence of transparency.

Correct me If I am wrong, but does Greece mean to have 6 miles of territorial waters (χωρικά ύδατα in Greek) and 10 miles of national air space? Is there another country in the world where the τerritorial water is not the same as the national aerospace? Is it not true that the majority of the dog fights between Greek and Turkish jets take place within this 6 to 10 miles space? Is it not also true that Greek war planes also violate the Turkish aerospace? Is it not true that these daily dogfights are taken as part of the practice routine of both air forces? At the same, has Greece given up on her notion of increasing the territorial waters to 10 miles? In this case wouldn't the Aegean Sea become a Greek lake?

And what if it is a Greek lake, Bananiot? Aren't all the islands spread across and along all 4 corners of the Aegean, Greek islands inhabited by Greeks? Aren’t islands parts of countries’ territorial integrities? Why should Greece share the Aegean Sea resources with Turkey, in-between its own islands? Is Turkey sharing its Dardanelle or Black Sea waters with Greece? Why is the UK enjoying more territorial water rights, than Germany does, if Germany is 80 million and the UK is only 65? Why shouldn’t -following your logic- Germany claim the right to start sharing some of the UK’s much larger territorial waters and continental shelf?

Bananiot and his kind have reached new depths. After indirectly encouraging foreigners to go and buy land in the occupied areas (http://www.cyprus-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=20495) when he knows full well that what they sell to foreigners there is stolen Greek Cypriot land, he now wants to give the Aegean to the Turks as well, like he wants to give to them the north part of our island.

As far as Bananiots and Klerides comments about "last opportunity" they remind me of those telemarketing ads that keep trying to sell some crap by using nice marketing words. In the end they also say that you should buy right NOW because their "super special" product is on some "super special" offer that will not be available the next minute.

When will Bananiot, Klerides, Turks and the AngloAmericans (same team), understand that the majority of the Cypriot people can not be fooled by their Marketing? No Bananiot, you can not sell to us an official de jure partition as "unification" and "solution". We look at the essence of what you want to sell us and not at the marketing words you use, which are basically lies and do not describe what we would get in reality if we accept your plans.

I have tried many times to discuss with Bananiot the essence of plans like the Annan plan, but he always prefers to stick to his marketing words instead.

Yes, Bananiot, Turkey is a grand superpower that manages to rule half the world, and we the little minions should immediately pay our respect to her, bow to her wishes and ask for forgiveness, in order for her to be able to show mercy and let us live.

Idiot!!!

They are pushing for the recognition of their own pseudo state since 1983. It is time Bananiot to understand that the Turks just can't get whatever they want, despite what some defeatists like you think.

Remember this VP:

I am sure back then you were also laughing at the people you oppressed and occupied their lands when they dared to think about their freedom.

Balance of power does change VP. Better understand this, and better understand what will happen to you when this balance of power changes and you will be found illegally occupying land which belongs to Cyprus and the EU. (since even if 100 years pass we will not make the mistake to sign it to you as you hope)

That's based on the assumption that TCs will be around 100 years from now... that would be the achievement of the millennium!
