AliTalat: I am the vice president of the Republic of Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Metecyp this is a well know photograph of the 60s showing a TC father with his two butchered babies.Even from looking in the photo one can realise something is not right. If i remember well one could even realise from the looks of this father that he was not OK.

Anyway this photograph was given so much publicity in the 60s as a proof that the GCs were killing even babies. I have seen this photograph many times myself, but I really can’t remember where. I am sure most historic books must have it.
About the photographer Sener Levent revealed his name and published his testimony last year.I read it in one of his articles but unfortunately did not keep a copy. Perhaps you can e-mail Levent for more information.

If Magik can post a copy of the photo from the book he is reading, I will most definetely be in a position to tell you if that is the photograph in question or not..

I believe this is the picture you are referring to. (warning it is not pleasant)

http://www.visionmatters.co.uk/cyprus/horror.JPG

This picture was published in the Daily Sketch 30.12.63 with the following text underneath

"The wife and children of a Turkish Army surgeon were murdered by Greek bullets in Nicosia. Thei bodies were dumped in a bath"

The text of the main story in Daily Sketch contains the following

"I was taken to Kumsai district and trod over shattered glass into a green-and-white house with orange trees in the garden, and an ownerless black-and-white cat wandering round.
The bathroom of this house was a bloodsoaked shambles with a woman and three smal boys lying dead and huddled togeather in the bath and in an ajoining room another dead woman.
My guide said the woman and her children were the family of a Turkish major and were all shot by the Greek Cypriots."

The house were this occured is now a 'museum' detailing the history of the suffering of the TC community from 63-74.

If there is evidence that the claim that these people were not murdered at the hands of GC I would like to know about it.

erolz there was an eye witness, a small girl who hid behind the door, she is still alive today and lives in the same area, if you want the full story you can always try to meet her.

OK appologies then. That photo is certain one of the most 'imfamous' of that period.

I am not aware of the photo you refer to and I am not sure I have ever seen it.
