Driving is an important part of my job and I do a lot of mileage daily, but I think 50kmh on a dual carriageway is a bit slow. And the highway between Polemidia and Yermasoya is set for 80kmh,but then saying that, there are loads of morons going at 140 !

A friend of mine in Cyprus had a massive crash due to speeding...once you lose control of a car at those speeds it's all over mate!

My friend wasn't wearing a seatbelt either and flew out the car. It was just terrible. She was in a coma for like a month and it's only now (after 9 years) that she's fully recovered.

I just don't think it's worth it...

That will soon change as one European country will be able to impose penalty points on the driving license of another EU country drivers license through the Court system.

That also means disqualifying a driver too!

I agree, I drive a van and am higher up and see so much bad driving and its all so predictable. To me the secret of my safe driving is the use of my mirrors and indicators, thats all. I see them coming and they know where I am going. No dents on my van.
Few scratches though, but thats the women parking in supermarket car parks

Gonna upset a few people here I s'pose but...

if you are speeding and get caught then tough titty..!

If you had seen as many severe injuries as I had back in the UK due to drivers speeding you might well slow down. Some of those injuries were just plain horrific and the suffering some innocent people went through because some lunatic thinks its clever to press an accelerator to the floor...well.

Am far more impressed with a driver who is cautious and shows some respect for other road users.

As for women drivers...yes there are a few bad ones around who should never get behind a wheel...however the same could be said of men drivers. In my experience women are not so mechanically minded as men...but they generally are far more cautious on the road.

Am an automotive engineer and my customers are a pretty even mix of men and women...a lot of men think they know a lot on the subject of cars and driving whereas if the truth be told they merely quote what they've read in some magazine and really don't know what the hell they are talking about half the time...whereas with women... generally... they listen to advice given and go by the rules. Most of the women I know are pretty good drivers...most of the men I know are pretty crappy drivers.
