i was driving to work and it was rocks falling down LOL the streets looked like a swimming pool :o then after a few hours the sun was shining again and was hot

1.5 centimeters of rain, if you had a simple rain harvesting system you would get 1,5 tons off a 100 square meter roof. That is about a month's water for a family of four.

Nearly all residential buildings here have sloping, tiled roofs, which would make it quite difficult to introduce such systems.

Without being pedantic... I can't see how a family of four could live off 1½ tonnes for a month... :?

Just 12½ litres per person per day... don't they shower or flush the toilet or anything?
