I posted an image from g-earth a few days ago, but I just dragged the image to desktop and posted the image in the usual way using the "post image" function at the bottom of the reply box.

What do you mean? With Google Earth you can export placemarks in a kmz file. But that is a file not just link. What you can do is to post google maps links. If you are in google earth then go to to File > View in Google Maps and then copy the URL. For example: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=34.65081 ... &t=h&hl=en If you want a map with placemarks on it then you can log in Google maps and use the "My Maps" feature.
