Welcome to the site
Trust me johnny you won't have any problems when you come to Cyprus, everyone knows English and many people are fluent at it. Doing extensive reasearch may prove a bit tricky as there are many websites which are in Greek. If you understand a little Greek then try this helpful site

Public education is superb and private education in English or Greek is available all over the island in schools like the Grammar School, Pascal, Med High, Med Junior or American Academy.
The only warning i have to give you is about public transport, IT DOESN'T EXIST. The buses are there to serve children going to/leaving from schools and at some other times during the day. BUY A CAR otherwise you will need to get expensive service taxies which are six-door mercedes which take you from one town to another for around £4 one way. Normal private taxies are not a viable option.
