bottom line, just recruit who you want the best way you know how. Don't worry about authorities, whingers or anyone else.

Yes we maybe in the EU, but we do have some way to go.

Go ahead get your people.

I think you have it arse about tit, it looks to me as though robin wants to complain about not being selected for a job.

   Hmmm, seems you may be right.

Oh no no another bloody whinger.

Robin, you would have had more respect and clearer answers if you had come clean about EXACTLY what it is you wanted, but re-reading your posts suggests you are now asking how to complain.

I think you may have just lost any support you may have had from here.

Perhaps robin is a black, blind, one legged, lesbian with a lisp, which in the UK would ensure employent at least at senior management level otherwise companes who didn't employ him/her would get their arses sued off.

Would their guidelines be governed more strictly???

I think you need to consult a lawyer.

Well, that seems to have attracted quite a lot of judgementalising comments!!!
I appreciate your input, however, the situation is,I have become aware of a company who appear to be practicing somewhat independently regarding employment legislation, and am anxious to seek redress in order to ensure that this practice is addressed by the authorities.
I am neither a whinger nor a black one legged lesbian, and I do have a job.

I guess you could just call me old fashioned and one who strongly beleives that equality and fairness should prevail, and that companies,no matter how important they feel they may be should adhere to laws which have been instigated in order to allow us all to earn a living.

So,do any of you educated, sensible and experienced members have an answer to my original question?????

Robin my love.... (or should I not use such familiar terminology :? )..

Please have a look at my post on the previous page which is very sensible.

Why are you instigating a witch-hunt?

Hi Oracle,Your termnology is not too familiar, and most welcome if meant sincerely..... :D :D Thank you!!!!!!

Your post is one of the few which I felt was helpful,my comments were for the ones you will notice provided little by way of sensible or appropriate response.

I would not call this a wich hunt exactly, but this company seem to feel that they can treat,or should I say mistreat their staff with little or no respect. The working practices they employ are to say the least flawed in the extreme, and as a result, decent hard working and dedicated people are suffering disadvantage.

The sad thing about this is,they are run by British people who should know better, and even though I have taken this up with senior managers at the company, they seem unwilling to address this matter. So I now feel the need to move forward with this and if necessary seek legal advice in order to get someone to take notice...........

OK ... whistle-blowing then!

Why should British people know better?

Isn't everyone the same? And most businesses are just out for profit.

Consider if what you are embarking on has any degree of success or whether the problem falls within the realms of "acceptable".

Are you very young?

Maybe you have set a high standard of expectations. I have worked with some high profile institutes (in the UK ... some government run) and you would be shocked at the number of rules and laws that were ignored and flouted for the sake of convenience and productivity.

It's about compromise and working towards the ideal, admittedly ... but accepting it may be some way down the line.

Still, admirable of you to stick your neck out.

Make sure your future prospects of employability won't be too compromised.

I feel that the British should know better as they always seem to be the ones carping on about fair play, political correctness, equal opportunities etc etc........the list goes on!!!

No I am not very young.......middle aged as a matter of fact...

I am an ex-Fire Brigades Union Branch Chairman, with extensive training in the prevention of, and dealing with cases of Harrassment and Bullying. It enrages me to witness the blatant and unfair treatment some people seem it fair to mete out to people who just want to earn a living.

Lets be honest, obtaining employment is far from easy over here, and to see firms and managers who should know better treating people in such an unfair and disgusting manner is to say the least inappropriate and unacceptable.

I refuse to let this rest and feel that this needs taking as far as possible.

Beleive me when I say, this is not over yet.
