Of course, it will go over the heads of some, and such people may find consolation in an activity of banal, navel-gazing futility such as writing messages in stars only and trying to guess the meaning of other such messages, a kind of pastime that most people tire of by the end of pre-pubescence. It just goes to show that this forum can cater for all tastes.

What is the important development. Israeli and Greek relations have always been reasonable. However, Israel will never assist Greece in any conflict against Turkey. Israel and Turkey are far too close, and the only allies loyal ally Greece has is France.

Joint excercises are not an important development at all. It does not mean Israel is going to help Greece or Cyprus. The Israeli's are only interested in helping themselves. They are honing their skills in order to prepare for their future attack on Iran. The only thing the Greeks would have gained is valuable training from 1 of the world's best Air Forces.

Greece and Cyprus have been buying Israeli hardware over the past decade. Israeli and Greek relations are fairly warm.

This is not to say that 1 must not be critical over the way Israel behaves to it's neighbours. Only Miltiades supports the nation of Israel and everything she does, whereas all other rational humans will even be critical of their own nation if it does something wrong or inhumane.
