Greek Influence in Ancient Chinese Language and Pottery

Postby Sabre » Fri Oct 17, 2008 5:21 pm

My learned Chinese friend has enlightened me with the knowledge that Greeks had an enormous amount of influence in Chinese Language and pottery.

It is absolutely amazing how Hellenic Culture was able to penetrate the Far East as far back as 3000 years ago.

It also amazes me how the modern day Turks seem to remarkably resemble Greeks in their features and stature. Could this indicate that the Huns of Mongolia, who migrated westward, encountered Greek sperm in some Hellenic ball bags, resulting in these fake wannabe Turks who look like Greeks? The mind boggles. :?

Please read the above link and tell us what you think. It will be interesting to read your comments and opinions.

Sabre ... you need to PM AlexISS this thread link, as he is our resident expert, high-brow intellectual on Greek language origins.

This is really interesting, but needs some back-up.

Thanks Oracle.

I have been trying to do some research of my own on this matter. All I have been able to find so far is the following link. It is much the same as the first link but from a different site. I have no idea what all this means and was hoping that someone such as yourself would be able to provide your valued and learned opinion. I am no linguistic intellectual. As a matter of fact, I was only average at English in school and found working with numbers and Physics more my cup of tea. I am just an unintellectual jock...

It will also be nice if Alexis can provide his assessment on the matter. It is an interesting topic which deserves more attention, something I am unable to provide, I am afraid. Can you please PM the link to this thread to Alexis, as I do not know him.

Many thanks
